2025 Algae Bloom Information

Oregon Health Authority has put Devils Lake on a precautionary advisory due to water quality and harmful algae bloom. If you do see water that looks unsafe, use caution. Fish caught from areas where cyanobacteria blooms are present may pose unknown health risks, so OHA recommends not eating fish from those areas. Those who decide to eat the fish should remove fat, skin and organs before cooking or freezing. Toxins are more likely to collect in these tissues. Fillets should also be rinsed with clean water. If you have questions or concerns email lake.manager@DLWID.org or call 541-994-5330. or visit www.healthoregon.org/HAB
