Dec. 12, 2025 - Atmospheric Storms & Devils Lake

This week the Oregon coast was slammed with an atmospheric storm dropping 6-8 inches of rain over three days and increased the lake level to 12.6 feet at its peak. High water on the roads near Blue Heron Landing and East Devils Lake Road created driving hazards as well as flooding around the lake. These storms impact everyone and you have a chance to help support the District's dredging project. Please submit your public comment and include photos to continue to build strong support from the community for this project. Public comment is open until December 18, 2025. Devils Lake Dredging Project - Nov. 19, 2025

Devils Lake Water Improvement District has submitted an application that involves activity in a wetland or waterway to the Department of State Lands. This project is to remove 2000 cubic yards of sand deposited from king tides at the SW end of Devils Lake (where the lake ends and D-River begins) to increase flow, help with area flooding, support migration of salmon, and make this area recreational again. Public comment is open until December 18, 2025. You can make a public comment to DSL here: Public Comment for Devils Lake Dredging Project.
