Who we are!

The first water improvement district of its kind in the State of Oregon, the Devils Lake Water Improvement District has been the conduit for managing Devils Lake since its inception in 1984.  As a special taxing district, DLWID receives funding from area property owners to work for the improvement of the many aspects of Devils Lake.

Mission
 
  • Improve and maintain water quality
  • Improve the environment for fish, wildlife and humans
  • Increase public access to Devils Lake
  • Reestablish safe and efficient navigation

Current Goals

  1. Identify the cost and effectiveness of all known reasonable mechanisms of weed control.
  1. Define and implement a monitoring program to insure water quality and the process for dealing with substandard waters.
  1. Identify and prioritize all controllable items that effect water quality in Devils Lake.
  1. Identify and aggressively pursue all blatant sources of contamination into Devils Lake.
  1. Promote sewer extensions to the rest of the properties inside Lincoln City.
